Meet Project Reboot. Developed by the MACOBOX team, Project Reboot is a progressive hardware target board: a hardware device specifically made to make learning hardware reverse engineering progressive and fun.
Your Mission: Your robot has had a bad day. During its last run, a crash corrupted critical systems. The core is still alive, but all high-level functions are offline.
Your Character: You are the field engineer assigned to bring the unit back online. You have direct access to low-level interfaces (UART, I²C, SPI, BLE). The robot will not simply accept a reset: you must prove you actually understand what you're doing by solving four protocol-based challenges.

Your Objectives:
- Recover the robot's UART recovery console and inspect its pseudo-filesystem.
- Sniff the I²C bus and reconstruct a flag from sensor traffic.
- Interact with the external SPI flash and recover a flag from firmware data.
- Use BLE to talk to the robot, set modes, and submit flags. Interact with packets and characteristics to solve the challenge.
Each challenge exists in two flavours: Normal mode and Hard mode. Normal mode shows you the core mechanics; Hard mode forces you to apply them in a more challenging way.
What you'll learn along the way:
- Understand how UART, I²C, SPI and BLE work in real embedded systems.
- Use these interfaces for debugging, reverse engineering and exploitation.
- Extract and submit flags that confirm you solved each challenge.

Project Reboot is available in two configurations:
- Complete: Contains everything you need to solve the challenge - all tools, accessories, wires, gizmos - everything you need is included. These are real tools - they form the base of every hardware auditor's toolkit - and will be useful for years to come.
- Basic: Device only - if you've already got tools and accessories, you can buy the Project Robot board standalone.
