Introduction
The NFC Booster Antennas are a simple, cost way effective way to squeeze additional performance out of NFC readers.
They are extremely thin PCBs that have an antenna on each side. Both have been perfectly tuned to 13.56MHz - when they encounter a 13.56MHz field, they repeat the signal.
It's completely passive, no batteries are required. These boosters can be used in projects that would require you to scan NFC devices through objects where the reader isn't powerful enough by itself to pass the signal through. You could place this item on one side of the obstruction, and the reader on the other:
- Placed between a phone and phone-case to boost the read range of your phone
- Placed inside your wallet to boost the read-distance of your cards inside the wallet
- Placed on readers with poor performance: Proxmark 3, Chameleon Ultra, etc.
Range improvements vary on the size of the target badge: cards and fobs enjoy up to double the read range with smaller tags getting an additional 10mm.
Two sizes are available: Small (28mm diameter) and Large (62mm). The small antennas come in a pack of four - the large antennas individually.
These are boosters: The increase the read range. If you're looking to also displace the reading zone to somewhere else, we recommend the Range Extender product, which allows you to displace the RFID field up to 30 or even 50cm away from the reading device.
